Basic and Must have Wordpress Plugins for Your Blog

If you are a newbie and searching out for basic and essential plugins for your wordpress blog then you are at right place. Here I have listed some of basic and essential wordpress plugins that every wordpress blogger must have. Akismet is an official WordPress plugin to prevent spam comments in WordPress. Spam commenting in wordpress is pain spammer's comments main moto is to get the link through your site. They don't want to discuss anything to you they just want a link from your site. This plugin automatically consider these comments as spam and automatically move to spam folder.

2. Jetpack :

Jetpack is another plugin by wordpress and it provide many features such as ::

3. Google XML Sitemaps :

To generate the sitemap of your blog. Sitemap submitting to various search engines like Google, Bing, etc is a way to index your site's pages to the search engines.

5. W3 Total Cache :

It is a performance optimization tool that decrease site loading time, increase web server performance, save bandwidth, etc.

For me WP SEO is a best plugin for SEO. It helps to get better rank in search engine. Using this you can do your On Page SEO in a better way as it give a rank to your SEO (like Good , Ok, Bad). It includes Meta Robot Plugin, Sitemap Creation, RSS footer etc.

7. Subscribe To Comments :

It helps to keep your visitors updated on new comments or replies to their comment if they choose to get those updates. If you are using Jetpack then you skip this as this option is already available in JetPack.

8. nRelated Post Plugin :

One of the top plugin to show related post with thumbnails. You can see the example below as I am using this plugin in my blog as well.

9. WordPress Database Backup :

Every blogger must have this plugin to create blog backup because no one knows when your database may crash and when you need a backup of your blog. So it is good to create blog backup by using this plugin. You can do with this like :

10. No Self Pings :

It stop Wordpress to ping back to your own site if you link to previous posts and it prevents trackback links to your own site.

11. Limit Login Attempts :

It limits the number of log in attempts to your site to prevent hacking activities and informs user about remaining retries or lockout time on log in page.
